PC Clinic Professional PC Diagnostic Software
Reports
The Snaphot report is produced when you select the Configuration Menu, then the Snapshot Report. You can elect to have it automatically placed in the burn-in Test Results Log. The initial screen requests you to enter any information prescribed information, such as the name, company, address, and contact information for the system being tested, and the technician's name. You can use the Snapshot Report menu screen to edit the entry dialogue so that any data you want in the report will be requested of the operator a report time.
The Test Log shows the results of testing you perform, and you can elect to put full results, only the failures, or only a test summary in the log. Also, you can put any information screen from PC Clinic, including benchmarks and other information, like into the log, merely by pressing a function key. In this way, the log can contain a complete record of your testing session.
SnapShot Configuration Report
PC Clinic shows you a massive amount of information about your system, as shown with the below sample printed display list from a typical computer. Notice that the System Rating table shows whether the system needs to be upgraded or not, and in what area. This report allows technicians to prove to their customers or managers precisely what hardware components are in the system, including the serial numbers of hard drives and the which slots the memory modules are in.

What is the System Performance Rating Table and How Do I Use It?
The system performance rating table at the top of the above report identifies the level of capability a system must have to be rated as Needs Upgrade, Minimum, Average, Optimum, or Superior. You may edit the settings so as to let the system rating report reflects the system rating according to your standards.
Why different standards? Because a scientist needs different performance from a data entry clerk. To accommodate them, you can create a different rating table for each. The software is delivered with a default rating table in the SNAPSHOT.SET file. An example of a rating table is shown below. You may edit it and save it under a different name, like SCIENCE.SET or SECRETAR.SET.

Test Results Log
PC Clinic puts the following information into the test log and saves it to the log file when you run a batch mode burn-in test. You may elect to log only the test summary or the full test results for each iteration (pass) that is run, plus the summary. The log file is opened, appended, and closed for each test so that if the test crashes the computer, the most recent test that passed is shown in the log, and (if enabled) printed or written to disk.
The technician includes his name and system identification information in the log by invoking the Site Settings item in the main menu and entering that information in the form provided. The user's name comes from the information recorded by the user when he first ran PC Clinic.

Note: The following configuration information is added to the log manually by visiting the Configuration menu, selecting the item to be tested, and when the display is stable, pressing F10, F, Enter, and A to add the information to the test log. You may also cause the burn-in batch mode testing to enter the full Snapshot Configuration Report into the test log automatically. Much more information is available than is shown below.
The value of this information in the log is that the computer builder and the technician know what was in the computer and how it was configured at the time it was delivered to the user, so it can be used to help verify the configuration if the user comes back to complain that the computer is not functioning properly.
